    USB Infrared Extender

    Hi there,

Does anyone know if a USB infrared extender will work on the Solo2?

My cabinet blocks the IR signal and need a cheap solution to extend the IR blaster (ideally one that doesn't require a power source)

    Thanks.

Only can say whynot, it just retransmit signal and Vu+ not using any so special IR sequences.

I need one also, quickly checked Ebay, basic USB powered with 1 receiver + 4 transmitter was 8€ shipped (from China..)

    You need extender/repeater, not receiver

If your TV set is Hdmi CEC capable, you can use your TV remote till you find extender.

You could get the VU+ app and use your phone. Works via the network so cabinet wont matter.

Just to update (and close this thread)

I bought this cheap jobby from China (
    Code:
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201020989318
), one bit on the Vu Solo IR, one at a place of my convenience, plugged in to the rear USB and voila! I have a perfect IR extender. Well chuffed!
