    Usb sleep in standby

I have a usb hard drive plugged in and wanted to know if it can be turned off when you press standby as it has an annoying blue light on it which is on all night. When i put the stb in to deep standby the usb goes off so was wondering is there an option to do the same when pressing just standby.

Standby just turns off the front display - all other processes continue - so light will stay on.

The standby functionality (or the lack there of) of any USB-HDD is build into the chipset that's in the housing. The host (i.e. your STB) has no influence on that behaviour.
Unfortunately it is hardly possible to get that kind of information from the drive's manufacturer.
