Really? Must have missed that offer.. Thanks for the heads up.

Found the Quad for £226 all in so for the 17 quid difference maybe it is an option. Isn't a 1300Mhz processor a bit mental for a satellite box though, how would you utilize that kind of power or is it more for future proofing?

Bear in mind if something goes wrong shipping back to germany for warranty repair will cost you a fortune.

I live on Ireland and prices are so much higher here than the UK and Germany so I would have to ship over seas if there was an issue. Gladly, no issues have happened that could not be sorted by myself, though mostly with the great support from this site.
I bought the Duo from *******.tv and the Quad from the sponsor WOS - both delivered quickly, both genuine sellers and both great to deal with.

Yeah that would have been a better idea to be honest. Still, it's coming from a pretty well know supplier so I should be OK if the worst happens...

Not a 100% sure how a German warranty works but it can't be much different to a UK warranty (hopefully) and have been reading about that Gigablue are pretty good at sorting issues out.

Sorry to high-jack the thread however I have a very similar question.

A friend of mine wants an HD receiver as this old one is giving him some problems (still only SD).

From the information here I see that for a DVB-S2 dual receiver the majority recommended the Gigablue Quad HD, however for a single DVB-S2 receiver I would like to know if anyone recommends a cheaper enigma2 receiver.

Would the Xtrend 4000 be a good choice or would you recommend something better (price/quality wise)? Is Xtrend 4000 a true enigma2 receiver or does it run on an emulator (this I want to avoid the most).

Many thanks for your replies and thank you once again for helping me out.

Have a loot at the TM Nano, it's a belting little box for the price.

    Thanks pheonix,

Would you rate the TM NANO better than the Xtrend 4000 or worst? The price difference is not huge and from what I see the Xtrend looks to have a better CPU? Am I right or am I missing something?

Many thanks in advance for a reply.

I have both, no noticable speed difference between them.
If I was to buy one today, I'd probably pick the Nano as it's newer, looks like USB tuner support will be working soon & the remote is easier to use.
The remote for the ET4000 is pretty small & feels a bit cheap.

Another excellent choice for a single tuner would be the Octagon SF8 HD http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/...-SF8-HD-XP1000 Very, very reliable hardware.
