This setup procedure was compiled by jbvid from another forum.

    Setup Guide for Spiderbox 6000HD

Patch Loading. Please note : Only use Spiderbox 6000HD Patches and Channel lists, all other model Spiderbox files are NOT compatible.

Download the latest patch from the link below and copy it to a USB stick.

Thanks to kempa82 for reminding me about first saving your channel data if you have any loaded, then doing a Factory reset before and after patch loading, the reset code is 0000.

Place USB stick into Spiderbox and go to Menu / System Settings / Update & Backup / Image Upgrade, scroll down and select if in a folder, if not then side arrow to select the patch file from the right hand screen, press ok and wait for the file to load, Spiderbox will reboot when complete.
Connect Network cable between Router and Spiderbox.

To Setup Wired or Wireless go to Menu / Multimedia / Network Settings right scroll to select Wired or Wireless, ok, enter your wireless Password then go to the floppy disc icon in the same text window to save.
To get extended Menu options goto Menu / Others and press 1111, this will give you 3 extra options at the bottom of the list.
Go to ‘Network’, scroll down to IKS and press register OK, will then show Connection Status as Connected and expiry date.

    Satellite Setup

Go to Menu / Sat Settings, scroll down the left hand list and click OK to select all the Sats you want to scan, this will give them a tick.
Right arrow across, scroll down to Motor, right arrow to select ‘Diseq/Usals’, OK, Scroll down to Mode, select Drive to Satellite, scroll down to Set Location, OK, Scroll down Set Long then Lat then save, scroll to Go ‘Save Data and run’ thats it.

Now to scan, Goto Menu / Automatic Sat Scan scroll down to ‘Scan select’ and change to ‘All Sat’, thats it, go get a coffee while it scans.

    Or
You also have the option to load a premade channel list, look in the channel list section:

    press menu-system setting-update&backup-ok-image upgrade

    or

load the ssu channel list onto a USB stick and plug it to the USB port on the spider.

Then :Menu-><or> to System Settings->select Software update->OK->select the first option S/W Upgrade->On the next screen go down to highlight the ROOT and then right to the box on the right where you should see the list of files on the stick , select the ch list and press OK, confirm changes when asked

How to Backup lists and data, link below thanks to kempa82:

addendum, for software to apply correctly, factory reset before and after loading new software, be sure to save your channel data first,

    reset code is 0000

    EPG Timer for Recordings.

You will first need a suitable USB storage device plugged into the front USB port, I use and can recommend a 2.5 inch laptop drive 160gb or 250gb fitted into one of the small USB caddies, these are self powered from the Spiders USB port.

A very nice easy new feature that works well, Up to 8 timer recordings can be set via EPG selection, first go to Multimedia / Recorder Settings / One Button Recording / On (this is for the remote red button start). Then set yourself a suitable ‘Default Recording Period’ then exit the menu. Make sure your time is set correctly in the System Settings / Time Menu.
Select a channel that you want to record, press the EPG button, right arrow and down to select the program you wish to record, yellow button ‘Book’ scroll down to ‘Timer Mode’ and right arrow to ‘Recorder’, ok.
You can also set up a Timer recording manually in the System Setting / Adv Timer Menu.

Many thanks to jbvid for this setup procedure.

    ----------------------------

    Softcam updating

By usb stick (formatted to fat32)

Menu - Software Upgrade - S/W Update - select the key file from right side and press ok

    Wait until the receiver reboots

    -----------------------------

You can add a total of eight C or N lines which can be entered via Remote control
