    Reset TM2T

    Hi,

Can somebody please advise me if there's a preferred way of fully resetting a technomate TM2T whilst retaining the settings (if that's possible/advisable) ?

Have only had it a few weeks, but it's behaving oddly,
some recordings won't play, the apps download sometimes doesn't work.

i initially joined another forum, where i was advised to manually install tspanel
    (i wanted iplayer etc.)
i then found a thread which advises against this as it destabilises the system (running vix)
the same thread also told me where to find the ondemand app !

Would be most grateful for some pointers please
    thanks

If you installed Tspanel, I'd start again with a fresh flash. You can back up your channel listings, cams, configs to a PC & restore them after the flash.

Thanks, but have already flashed it. I thought i should probably go further with a full reset,
    if that's possible ?

If you have flashed it without restoring settings, all should be fine.
If you flashed it & put TSPanel back on it, I'd flash it again...

    I did TSpanel via ftp.
Removed as well, although behaved oddly on removal...

So I might have saved a corrupt file system along with my saved settings

So only way out is reflash, then 24 hr tuner scan again :-) ?

How to start afresh while keeping settings.

    Create settings backup.
After reboot, provided you have the storage device connected (that has settings backup) you will be prompted to restore, say yes.

Personally, if receiver has been behaving badly, I wouldnt even use a settings restore. If channels/bouquets are important, save to PC using Dreamset/Dreamboxedit or similar.

A easier way is to use the image manager and download the latest stable image directly from the server and flash it directly from there, no USB sticks needed and a full reflash should take less than a minute.

    Many thanks for the replies.
    Have just flashed again,
Will try it for a few days, probably start afresh if it's still playing up.
