Hello, can any owners tell me how quick and responsive these are, also do they cold boot pretty fast?

Its a surprisingly nippy little box, from deepstandby it takes just 1 minute 10 seconds to fully bootup and thats with a USB stick in the back containing a image that the box detected and asks if you want to update the box.
I have not tried images other than ViX on mine but with ViX i have not seen any issues with remote lag, in fact its faster than my Duo.

Any receiver will play from a network share provided there are no bottleneck issues.
The question you should be asking is: Does the receiver play files encoded with the codec your files contain.
Indeed: the 'play from....' part of the question is only depending on the 'from' being properly set-up.
