    Hello,

    Is there a menu option to prevent overstretching of the picture?

    go into settings....System..AV Settings and set Display 4:3 and 16:9 content as you require to achieve what you need.
    Note Pillar Box and letterbox will give you some black lines.

    If these make no difference then maybe you have setting enabled on your TV.

    Overstretching what ?, the tv picture or the OSD ( on screen display menu ).
