How do I configure Solo2's Tuner A&B with 2 LNBs and a motorised dish?

    Hi,

    Please help if you can.

    At the moment I have the following connection;

    SOLO2 Connection:

    1. My connection from Solo2, LNB1 goes to motor and then to LNB port 1 on the dish (motorised LNB port1)
    2. My connection from solo2, LNB2 goes directly to LNB port 2 on the dish.

My Tuner configuration is as follows:

    1. Tuner A: Positioner: USALS
    2. Tuner B: Second cable of motorized LNB Tuner A:

With the above connections and set-up I can tune to any satellite using Tuner A only.

However, what I would like to do is to view a channel, say from Tuner A and record from say, Tuner B.

I know is possible but at the moment I cannot work this out.

Can anyone provide any step by step instructions how this is done please?

    Your help will greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards,

    Giorgos.

Well, your setup seems to be fine.

Please use satfinder for tuner B to see if it locks to various channels on various satellites.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply.

What kind of configuration do I apply for Tuner B please? At the moment is set to "second cable of motorized LNB Tuner A".

    Kind Regards,

    Giorgos

The motor can only be moved using the cable that goes to the motor. This is why you can only move it with Tuner A.

You have configured it correctly. The second setting is basically " I am whatever the dish is pointing at using Tuner A"

Yeah just to add, tuner b will only ever be able to receive whatever sat tuner a moves It to, my set up is motorised dish on a and fixed dish on b for 28.2.

So you have two separate dishes?

Tuner A = Leave it as it is.
Tuner B. Based on the understanding that this goes to a fixed dish pointing at 28.2 with no other intermediaries, then it should be set as:
    Simple
    Single
    28.2

Golden rule is software config of tuners must match hardware connected to it.

    Hi DaMacFunkin,

My setup is only one motorized dish with a twin LNB.

    1. LNB port 1 goes to a motor and then to Solo2 LNB1.
    2. LNB port 2 goes to a Solo2 LNB2 directly.

Any suggestions how I can configure my solo2 to watch a channel from say Tuner A and record a channell, say from LNB2.

I have tried all combinations but to no avail, therefore your help will greatly appreciated and I can buy you a beer in central London if you happen to be close buy.

In any case, many thanks in advance for trying to help.

    Kind Regards,

    giorgos.

Tuner 2 should be set to 'second cable from motor'.
