I updated online and was having a few issues. Having seen a couple of posts saying that it is best to:

A: Create a settings backup,
B: USB flash a new image,
C: Restore settings.

One of the issues I was experiencing (unable to grab screen shots using webif) has been solved. Anyone else who updated online should consider doing the the same. Pity the good news thread does not recommend this method of updating.

Actually this will depend on what build you're updating from. If rather old, and also in some rare occasions, a flash is recommended (especially if a kernel change took place).
This applies to all boxes and not only to a good-news-story.

But you're right: in this case many users will be updating from a rather old build.

Hopefully with TM now getting the basics correct then we may see some further development, especially with the playback of different codecs etc. All in all though perseverance has prevailed and can only hope that TM continue developing there software in a sensible way. Anyway I am off to to search wround WOS to see how I can stream externally

yes thats the idea.
