Cant get network to work on new Quad..

Just swapped out my DUO (same cables) for a gigablue quad this evening.
All going fine until I had to reboot and network hasnt worked since.
It was set to DHCP but after reboot settings were blank.

I set them manually but no difference. Cant do anything on the box that involves network or internet.

I tried to install samba and I get "A background update check is in progress......"

    I reflashed and no difference.

Badly stuck as other half wants to watch TV.

Box has latest image with extra DVBS and DVBT tuner.

Have you tried rebooting the router aswell?
Anything else currently plugged in to it?

did reboot the router 4 or 5 times.
nothing else connected to the box.
    driving me nuts..
I wonder if Im missing something simple...

    also what does this mean...
"A background update check is in progress......"

Can you take a screenshot of your Network Config screen & Network about screen & upload them.
"A background update check is in progress......" could mean cam check, software update check... but if the box isn't connecting, that check could take a long time...

are you sure 103 is correct for the gateway? just unusual unless you set that up yourself.
Any lights flashing on the modem to see it trying to connect?

I would enable DHCP and than reboot box and router to make sure all new IP addresses allocated.

If after that still not connecting, check cables.

Try going into router config page and see if its been assigned - also once youve manually entered ip address try it again but set DHCP yes and see what happens

s1m0nw you are on to something.
I checked in router with DHCP on quad and it appears on the list but shows nothing on the quad itself.
I added the quad to the DHCP reservation list in router with different IP and restarted QUAD network and the chosen IP for the quad in the routers list changed to the new address.

Seems it it requesting and being assigned an IP but not registering it to the box...

    Where to now...

Do you have any other gigablue boxes on your network? As they all use the same mac address, They are not unique like other brands

No other giga boxes. A duo and solo. Would MAC address affect static IPs too...

You don't have the IP you're trying to use locked to another mac address in your router, do you?
