Hi all,
First post, quick question I'm thinking of buying a duo2 or solo2 apart from the difference in spec what will I gain be buying a duo2?
Thanks
Tom.

- An LCD screen that is rather a gimmick than being useful;
- swappable tuners that may or may not interest you;
- slightly better transcode functionality
- built in WiFi
- WoL-functionality
- a small Graphical VFD of bad quality
- far less money in your wallet to carry around

And the ability to have up to four tuners with the duo2
What memory? Flash or RAM?
Believe me: the Solo2 has plenty of both. You'll never run low on flash or RAM on that box.

VU+solo2 all day long.I was looking into getting a Duo but after alot of research it wont offer me anything extra that i want.
I have been running solo2 on vix for a while now and boy its has a super fast boot and a restart is about 2-3 seconds incredible..and super fast everything..as posted before it has stacks of flash i have every type of plugin going and some and only used 90mb.
Hi all,
Thanks for the replies, just another question I already have a sky dish in place with 2 cables would the Solo2 simple be a straight forward swap out, (plug the cables in, switch the power on and boot the box)
Thanks
Tom.
If you have two coaxial leads already, its just swapping the boxes over

as for box swap, yes, but i wished i had been able to afford the duo, after a week i have found 2 tuners to be a bit restrictive.
I could do with about 6 tuners in my house with the wife and the kids constantly recording stuff, then complaining when there recordings keep clashing. Lmao
You can use USB T2 and DVB S tuners with the box, not as good as built in but not at all bad. Andy has a cheap DVB S working, £30 cheaper than sundtek

Could you give the details of Andy's setup please? Cheapest option sounds good to me.
