    Viewing solo2 on windows 7 network

    Guys read something about being able to view the solo2 on windows 7 pc without using DCC E2. Anyone know how?
    VU+ Solo2, Vix 6.2.005. (miss Apollo.153 though)

    enable samba on the solo 2.
    Menu -> Setup -> System -> Network -> Samba setup.

    Ok judge. Enabled the samba on the solo2. Now what do I do in widows 7. Cheers

    Sorry nothing showing up in windows explorer under network.

    Try to edit the "Workgroup" name/entry in the samba config file in Usr > etc >samba. I changed mine from "VIX" to "WORKGROUP" which is my network workgroup name, rebooted the box and it's there now.

    If you know the IP address of the solo 2, type \\ip_address into the address bar in explorer and that should show the shared folders.

    You can right click on a shared folder and select "map network drive". That will give it a drive letter (like Z: ) so that you can easily find it again.

    That worked great, I can now see the solo2 as a Z drive, what I really want to do is use windows explorer to move files across instead of using DCC, does anyone know how?

    Try changing router to WPA2 only then reboot router.

    This worked for me when none of the above worked. Can now see Solo2 in Windows 7 network

    You should be able to drag and drop files into the appropriate folder on your new Z: drive.

    nice one i had the vu as a map drive be windows reinstall and could not for the life of me get it back ...well until now
