Just joined this site as I am about to purchase a solo 2 and wanted to join a friendly community.

Have never used linux satellite receivers, but I'm really into technology!

josh_g- am looking at the guide now. Am I right in thinking that for the Solo2, I don't need to flash the bootloader? All I'd need to do it flash to the latest Vix image correct?

if you buy from the sponsor it will come pr-flashed with vix or what ever image you request

I brought from the sponsor but left the vu official image as I want to do it myself

ahhh that's fair enough, im not to sure about the bootloader i assume you would as you are going from stock image. doing the boot loader shouldn't do any harm

I literally just thought all I would have to do is flash it with the vix image on a flash pen. I couldn't find a bootloader for solo2

There's no bootloader update for the solo2 as of yet.
Just grab the latest image from http://openvix.co.uk & flash away...
