    What format for internal HDD?

Which one performs best? NTFS, Ext3, Ext4?

I want to use the HDD as a central point to share across the network (a temporary NAS) so performance of the disk read/writes and network speed will be critical.

If your using the HDD internally it must be formatted to EXT 3 / 4 otherwise you won't be able to use time shift or record any program's over 4GB in size ( approx 1 hr of HD content ). Use the image it self to initialize the HDD.

Well, NTFS is also capable of handling files over 4 GB. But it doesn't handle symlinks.

With regard to the use for the STB Ext4 would be the best option. And if it's an internal HDD (which I presume) it makes no difference for other users in your network.

To get your internal HDD formatted to Ext4 it's best if your box does the job.

Normaly, the internal disk is mounted automaticly.
Now i am trying to acces the disk by Initialising, doing this i get a error. "Timeout elapsed, sorry"
When trying to mount the box crashes, i see a error in the fstab file "index list out of range"

The box is detecting the drives,

    Detected media:
    /dev/sda1 Not mounted
    /dev/sdb1 Not mounted
