    Wifi on a VU+ Solo2

Is it possible to plug a USB wifi dongle into the USB port on a solo 2 to get wifi ability, or am i barking up the wrong tree and need a powerline adapter, and a cat 5 cable ??

    Thanks

    Carl.

Don't worry.... Just realized WOS do a USB Dongle ! DOH

I might try a powerline adapter first anyway, looks like they are more reliable, means I can put the 15M cat5 cable away, trailing all the way up stairs.

yes you can use a wifi stick on the solo2 in fact Vu produce one them selves although i have never even used one on mine as all my boxes are connected directly through a dedicated 24 port network switch.

Strangely.....Now you have said that, When i redesigned the living room (50" Samsung wall mounted, all wires hidden) I built a socket with a RJ45 plug into the system , just never got around to wiring it all up, maybe now might be a good time to put that 24 port network switch i bought to good use !

Thanks for that, that's my job for tomorrow then. (the network cable was going to run down the outside of the house from the 24 port in the loft) and in through the wall to the RJ45 socket I have all the bits here to do the job, so just saved me a load of money.

    Thanks.

Then I can't help you: 3-808 is no longer supported. ViX Zeus is the way to go!

When I was getting my house built 12 years ago I ran cat5 everywhere (even to the fridge!). At the time wifi was getting big and was thinking that cat5 would be defunct, it was the best decision I ever made. You can't beat having hard wired, especially when streaming HD.

    Dear all,
I am a brand new Solo2 owner and after booting it for the very first time, I've flashed it with Helios.
In mother's image, wlan adapter was recognised and worked properly.
But, after flashing to Vix Helios all I see is just LAN and not WLAN..
    Any ideas pretty please?

    I appreciate your prompt response.
Is there perhaps a downloadable version of the driver so as to use a USB memory stick to install it on my solo2?
Or I need to connect solo2 to the internet via LAN so as to get it?
