    uno differences

    i have two uno's.
one box i bought last sept is on build 658 with no updates available. unstable updates enabled. (edit here, were not enabled, since enabled and updated to 664)
when the box starts i get the blue planets screen and in top right corner it has "openix, www.world of sat for all your satellite needs" ( or something like that)

the other box i bought in feb of this year is on build 664, no updates available. unstable updates enabled.
when this box starts up i get a huge openvix logo that stretches across the entire screen and then the blue planets screen comes up.
both boxes purchased from forum sponsor.
    why the differences?

edited: both updated to build 664, but still the differences in startup screen.

The screen you describe on the second receiver is simply a splash screen, if you updated the first box from earlier builds without reflashing you may simply be missing this splash screen. If you flash this box it will likely also flash the splash screen but even without it there is nothing to worry about, it does not affect how the receiver runs at all.

    thanks for the reply phoenix.
both boxes have been reflashed manually a few times.
the first box i described is also the box i have reported in the forum as not starting up correctly after reflashing or restarting, IE: it sticks with restarting..... on the vdu and will not boot up until i switch the power off and on.
also it has never displayed the large openvix splash screen.

The splash screens of VU's can easily be changed. Just put any desired splashscreen in the imagefolder and flash.
You can flash the splashscreen without flashing the complete image, if you only put the splashscreen in the folder.

I always delete all splashscreens from all image folders, and I stick to the factory screens.

    See attachment.

But you can use any splashscreen as found in image folders.

download any of the images from the openvix site and delete all the files from /update/tmtwinoe/cfe and replace the splash.bmp file with the one you want to use.

p.s this thread is for the Vu+Uno in future please post in the correct section.
