I've got a 400gb partition for a nintendo wii on the usb hdd and want to keep it if possible, noticed if i initialise it on the box its going to wipe the whole thing, is there anyway i can keep the partition by using the box to format it?

As far as I know the box should be able to format only the desired partition.
The dialogue window will show you the details, so be sure to read that carefully before initialising.

it shows the full capacity (1000.201 gb) of the hdd when i click initialise, think ill have to format on the pc to keep it split into 2

    edit:
formatted it to ext4 on paragon partition manager and all working well again, just wont backup the image while in timeshift this time lol
