    CrossEPG Not Downloading

I have been using the CrossEPG for weeks now and from a few days ago nothing was downloading. I have tried again today and again nothing. When i select the to download the screen goes blank and nothing happens. The once it completes something its doing then it says service unavailable.

Can someone please help me get EPG working again.

it's possible that your EPG.dat file may have become corrupted, if this is the case you will need to delete it while enigma is shutdown by doing the following.

Start a telnet session and when logged in issue the init 4 command, this will put your receiver ( Enigma ) to sleep. DO NOT close the telnet session yet.
start a FTP session and navigate to where ever your EPG is stored and delete the EPG.dat file.
in the same telnet session as before now issue the init 3 command to reboot enigma.

if all goes well once the receiver reboots you should just need to re-download the EPG and that's it.

sometimes you get a blank screen, sometimes a one with a radio mode background, thats not really important as long as the progress bar on the bottom of the screen moves.

what is your exact EPG setup as it's possible that something in the settings is incorrect.

    try doing a full scan.
Menu -> Setup -> Service Searching -> Automatic Scan & let us know if you still have the issue.

    Re: CrossEPG Not Downloading

I suspect its not locking on the tuner.

Have you got a dual tuner receiver? What is tuner configuration?

Hope I can help here.....I have a similar problem. If I leave all alone it works fine but if I import a different channel list then I have exactly the same error message and it will never update again.!I have tried it 6 times and every time it's the same...Perhaps the poster has changed his channels list?

because OpenTV tunes to a specific radio frequency to download its data.
That's why I suggested you do a full channel scan after you upload your custom bouquets as it sounds like you have lost this frequency...

If the schedule time the box is in deepstandby it will not wakeup to download the EPG - was that the case for you?

What I do is setup powertimers to wake it up and put it back to bed to enable the CEPG to be dowloaded, not had an issue on 3 boxes
