channel stutters when disk drive starts up

i have a 1 tb disk in my solo2 (duo had the same problem). whenever it starts up due to a recording timer the live channel stutters.
on my dm7000 i fixed the problem by inserting 2 capacitors into the drive power cable.
does anybody know whether this would fix the problem on a vu+ as well?
    thanks.

I also have a Solo 2 with 1tb hdd installed, no such issues here. Is it a new hdd which you have installed? Please specify the model. What image are you using?

What rpm of drive do u have in it.

I had a 7200rpm drive at first and it did this and also took a while to initialise.

Replaced with 5900rpm and no further problems

just to close this thread: I found out that the stutter has nothing to do with the disk. it's caused by the power up of the 2nd lnb when the recording starts.
obviously my inverto quad-lnb doesn't interact well with the solo2.
I now have a duo2 and it works nicely with the very same lnb.
