Displaying pictures on net drive is very slow

I have mounted a network drive to my solo2. When clicking on a picture the message "please wait, loading picture" is displayed sometimes for minutes. Displaying Pictures is very slow. I am using the Picture Player.
Considering the HW performance of solo2, I'm really suprised that this is going that slow.
Has anybody an idea how this can be improved?

You must remember that some pictures can be very large files.
Especialy when taken from a camera. It takes time to transfer across the network.
You should compress the files with graphic software on your PC. Browsing them across
a network will be much quicker.
