    "Crashing" at startup

    Hello All

Trying to go legal, after a disappointing time with DVB-T.

After not using my VU DUO in 9 months, I decided to go legal with my Duo.

Tried reinstalling 4 times V.3.0 and one time v.2.4.

    - I install VIX, then CCcam v. 2.3
    - Do a channel search
    - I get picture with my card in the card reader.
    - The box works fine
    - Edit my channellist with dreamset (one time i tried doing it manually via remote)
    - First reboot - VIX hangs on start up.

    Symtoms:
    - VU Duo is connectable via FTP, via dreamset, not by web interface
    - Shows background - VIX logo rotates for 10 secunds, disappers for 6 sec. After 2-3 minutes VIX logo disappers.
    - The MFD registers my remote signales, but nothings happends.

    Any ideas?

How do i get crash log files?

what 3.x build are you trying?
you may also need to flash the bootloader epending on when it was done last.

ViX 3.0-204 is well over 6 months old. Go to www.openvix.co.uk and download a newer version like build 600.

What you experience is a 'crash loop'. Enigma doesn't get fully started, so no crashlogs are being generated. After trying a number of times, Linux gives up and awaits your solution.
If debuglogs would have been enabled, all info would have been in there (including the crash info).
An other option is to make a boot log, via the RS232 connector.

NICE... That did the trick. The newest version works

Wondering why 2.4 did the same thing, but doesn't matter now...

ViX 2.4 is now considered as obsolete and it no longer is maintained or updated. ViX 3.0 is the only image were currently supporting so unless you have a specific reason for staying on lower images / builds it's always recommended to use the newest stable build.
