If you have Plasma TV that could be culprit, but you said you tested it with TV switched off (TOTALY OFF, not just standby!).

Take the unit into another room, connect to another TV.

The issue could still be your HDD issue that you reported in another thread.

putting a fresh set of Duracell batteries in the remote instead of the shitty chineese ones that came with it and changing the remote code to 1 and doing the same on the receiver seemed to have fixed it.

Cover the IR sensor on the box COMPLETELY with masking tape.( The Sensor is between the power button and the display. ) This will filter out plasma interference and only leave through valid signals. If it's still not working 100%, stick on another layer of tape. Get the black marker out, blend it in a bit!

lol I didn't spend over £300 on it to make it look ugly by sticking tape over it. if there isn't another way then I guess I will have to live with it.

In fairness, if u paint it black and cut it to the right size, it's barely noticeable. Infinitely better than button bashing the remote. 300 quid pays for a powerful twin tuner satellite box, if you want good looks, stick on a Mila Kunis film!

I setup my new solo2 today and lo and behold had the unresponsive remote problem. I had already enabled power save mode on my plasma in anticipation. Moved the solo2 to the bedroom with a led TV and the problem vanished. Reinstalled the faithful duo in the lounge.

What gets me is the remotes for my Duo and Solos are fine, just the solo2 that plays up.....

We see more and more reports like this on several forums.
You could try changing the R/C code from the default '2' to an other value (1, 3 or 4) and see if that makes any difference.

This is a known problem with plasmas and applies to Dreamboxes and many other STB-s! What you can do is put masking tape on the INSIDE of the Solo2 before IR sensor. Take the front of, put masking tape....Void warranty if you break something of course...

Google: "IR PLASMA INTERFERENCE" and you will find TONS of info on that topic. This is in no way Solo2 problem it a general problem with plasmas and IR receivers....
