    Hi Guys,

I already have Vu Duo running VIX Image which I updated over 6 months ago.
Its unstable, stops working some times and the channels from the buquet doesn't work anymore. Its gives signal PAT error.

I thought the best course of action would be to re-flash the box and loads the buquets from the beginning.

    Any suggestions?

First of all I would recommend you use a dedicated USB stick for this process, I my self use a Sandisk Cruzor Blade 4GB stick for this purpose as it is very small and easily hidden away behind the receiver.

Format your USB stick to FAT32 from your computer.

Place the USB stick in to any of the USB ports on the receiver. ( I use a rear port as it's not in view and therefore hidden away. also as it's behind the receiver the stick is not so easily damaged. ). Then reboot the receiver.

when the receiver has booted up, navigate to the mount manager. Blue button> ViX> mount manager. your USB stick should be shown as Mount: /media/usb if it is not press the green button then highlight the stick and change the mount via the left and right buttons. Then press the green to save.

Exit from this screen using the back button and navigate to menu> setup> system> EPG.

you now have several options to setup your EPG using either CrossEPG or Rytek or both depending on your setup.

To setup CrossEPG as your EPG
    Hi,

Could use some help on this bit, after doing the USB install bit (all mounted fine) I can't use it because the Solo2 tells me that the USB isn't formatted to EXT2,3,4 or NFS partition. Help,

    Cheers,

    Keith

it should install fine if you formatted the usb to fat32 on your computer before putting the image on it.
there is an option to convert to ext3 or 4 in menu/setup/system/hard disk

Do I need to put an image on it? I'm not trying to install, just use the usb stick for timeshift.
I've got the EPG running from my PC now
The last problem, for now, is timeshift.

oh i see, sorry i thought you were trying to flash an image to the box.
once the usb is formatted it should be straight forward to 'point' timeshift to use the usb.

Lmao jay. I though i'd add that bit into the original tutorial as we all know how nervous a time it can be setting up a new receiver.

yes it's pretty much the same process for all Vu receivers with the exception that the Uno, Ultimo and Solo2 dont have bootloader updates and when these receivers detect a image on the USB stick they ask you to press a button on the receiver it self to initiate the flash process.
