    1.2M or 1.25M dish wanted

Ideal gilbertini or something similar but must be cheap
I actually only need it for Sky, I'm located in Manchester and have a great picture other than when it rains and if its anyway heavy at all the picture goes
I have a 90cm dish at the moment
In the summer its more or less ok unless it rains hard, in winter when it rains its a rubbish picture

My problem is trees, the installers said I'd never get a picture from Sky located where I am, so I bought a larger dish and installed it myself
its set up properly with a meter but I need to get a slightly higher pole and I reckon a 1.2iM (ish) dish and it will solve the problems
I'm planning to use an Inverto black octo lnb

Unless anyone has any better suggestions (other than moving)

The dish is physically as far from the trees as it can get

going higher with a bigger dish unless very very sturdy, will give you bigger problems,

not sure of all the details of your situ, but it might be better to go mesh dish, and higher

Short of chopping the trees, if you get on well with your neighbors, could share their LNB?

You could install a 3m dish and still get the same, if you've got trees blocking reception there ain't much you can do but chop the trees down.

A few years back, I did a difficult dish setup on "offa,s dyke"

spent hours walking around with a dish/meter trying to find a line of site

in the end set a dish up on a long pole,( carefully configed at true plumb ) found a fixing point for the pole, and this sorted it

hence the surgestion of a mesh dish

Unfortunately there isnt any chance of either
[quote[All the trees on the open land are part of the Hulme & Hardy Woods Local Nature Reserve, which is a designated protected managed area by the Council`s Countryside Service. [/quote] and it's only 1 tree that's causing the problem

I asked about getting the top trimmed down and the garden is part of a flat and the dish is already at the furthest point from the trees
It's annoying because on most days the picture is perfect its just when the weather is bad its annoying

I did consider getting a 6ft 2" 14swg pole with a zone 2 sky dish on it higher up - less wind loading but not sure how well it would work, but I should be able to get it quite a bit higher as it could go on the pole on the chimney just not sure how well this would work though but it would clear the top of the tree

Hammer some copper into the tree and kill it, they will then have to chop it down to make it safe.

you most likely would,nt need to go 6ft, the trick would be how ever, is to set up the dish some where easy, and have the pole true plumb, when the dish angle is set, tested as well

you then just replicate the setup on your chimney, the one problem would be the length of the pole, as I suspect it would,nt need to be 6ft, as the signal is a reflected signal
