    DDT tuner does'nt work

    Hi everybody,
I've just purchased a second hand Ultimo with 2 sat tuners and a cable/terrestrial tuner. The image is VTI.
the first owner of the box lives on other zone of my country (Spain) so there was some frequencies missing, so i decided to load a E2 channel list backup i had on my computer and tested with my other box, a vu+ duo. Everything was ok, channels were all ok until i did a reset of the box.
After reset no picture is showed, no error is showed, no signal of antena. I've tried updating terrestrial.xml then reset the box, the picture came back but after another reset the same problem came. After that tuner doesnt work anymore, no mater reloading terretrial.xml file, 0 services found if i try a channel scan, no success if I reload the channel list.
I've tried black hole 1.7.3 and the problem is the same.
I think my box is going to blow up cos I'm doing so many resets triying to solve the problem.

Can anyone help please? I'm realy desperate.
    thanx a lot

Signal from antena is ok if i plug it directly to tv. Also I told that it worked 3 times before reset, so antena is ok.
Tuner is seted as dvb-t europe, africa, midle east T- freq.
    5v. Is switched off.
I'm sure this is correct . I'm sure is a software problem, but don't really know what to do.

Maybe a driver issue ?, have you installed a driver to work with your cable tuner ?, Is your satellite tuners working ok, picking up channels etc ?

    Hi,
what Do you mean with reset? After you changed something you have to turn off the box on a regular way with the menu and deep standby or reboot there. If you apply a reset with telnet or simply switch of the box the changes are not stored.

    ciao

Hello Dell_XPS, I havenīt tried any driver update, Is not suposed latests image are up to date in matter of drivers? Anyway I'll try...
    Sat tuners are working perfect.

Sorry Trial, my english is not as good as I want, when I say "reset" I mean reboot with the remote control. For example, last time I had terrestrial tuner working, my next step was a hard disk and a USB pendrive maping, after maping, enigma2 asked for a reboot to take the maping working, after that reboot the tuner doesnīt worked anymore...

    Any Idea will be welcomed!

Have you tried putting the usb tuner in another usb slot ?, have a look in the plugins via the the menu for a driver for your stick first though, install that see if that helps.
Also try switching it off at the back of the box rather than just via the remote, or use the remote to restart enigma, not just powering down the box and then powering it back up.

    Hi Dell,
My tuner is not a usb tuner, is internal tuner, remember the vu+ ultimo have the posibility of three internal slots for plugable tuners. I have two sat and one cable/terrestrial tuner, all of them original Vu+.
I have tried updating drivers as you sugested me, then I've done a terrestrial scan and I've seen now is detecting all the channes OK, tested a bunch of channels and everything is ok, but when I reboot the box to see if is still working, no picture again.
I need to do a daily reboot as I want to use the box as a cccam server.
I've tried soft reset, hard reset, back switch reset... Nothing seams to help.
Could the DTT driver disapear after reset? how can I detect it / prove it?

Ah right, I thought you were using a usb tuner, ok you have 2 sat tuners and a TV tuner, is it not something to do with the xml file for the TV channels it's not saving them ?
I only have 3 sat tuners in mine, not TV tuner, when you scan channels on the TV tuner does it not give you the option of saving right at the very end of it scanning ?
Maybe someone who has a TV tuner might be able to help you out as I said above I have three sat tuners in my Ultimo :-(.
I shouldn't think you would need a driver if it's an internal Vu TV tuner, should just detect it and work as far as I can tell, only other option is to try another image, I've only ever used the Vix image, so maybe worth trying that if you have no joy with it saving the TV channels.

EDIT:, what options does it give you to scan, have you tried just a blind scan, not sure if you get that option on a TV tuner, Im just guessing ?

There is no option of saving, or blindscan, anyway the problem is not the channel list saving. After a restart of he box the channels are there, even the epg is showing, the problem is that there is no picture, just black hole image backgound picture.

I only know everything works back when I do install latest drivers from TRR panel, to be more specific the drivers are:

    3.1.1 4.4.3 20120228

don't know what exactly the drivers are for, can't find the information on the net.

Try a different image to see if it fixes it, might just be a black hole problem ?

This morning I've tried original image v7.0, with the fresh instalation the tuner worked ok, but after first reboot tuner doesn't work anymore, even reinstaling drivers, terrestrial.xml and channel list. At this point I was very scared and I begun thinking of a real tuner hardware issue.
Then I've unpluged tuner B an C and swaped each other slot, instaled latest openpli image and everything works ok now. Rebooted 20 times and tuner keep working like a charm .Don't know if the key was the tuner swaping or the openpli image, I'm afraid the key could be the tuner swaping, i think so.
By the moment I will try openpli for a time, but I'm very used to black hole so I think sooner or later I'll go back to BH.

    Thax everybody for help!
