Many HD channels not working 28.2 Degrees E

Many HD channels not working at all ie no signal being received ie Sky1HD, Sky F1HD

Latest Silverfox channel list installed, satellite .xml updated.

When I check the tune there is no signal being received on the correct frequency for Sky F1HD for example. However many channels do work-I can get the SD F1 channel no problem, so some channels are working fine.

    I'm running VIX 2.2.1.

Any ideas what to try next?

You are running a rather old image, and hence old settings (if you installed them from the feeds).
The only sensible advise is to update your image.

    try re-scanning the satelite 28.2e.

    A scan should fix it.

It always makes me laugh when someone has an issue the immediate answer is you are on an old image and update!!

Do not update, simple as that, the latest Vix is much worse than previous incarnations and seems very problematic.

So I'm talking nonsense? That only means you haven't read what I said. And that's what makes me laugh!

you are partly correct. yes a scan should find the channels however that version image is no longer maintained nor updated and as such can be considered as obsolete. Which is why it is recommended to update to a more current image. after all why spend all that money on a enthusiasts receiver just to throw a old and no longer maintained image on it ?. my advice to the user would be to backup their current setup and try a newer image, it need not necessarily be ViX but a newer image from any team would suffice if just for the newer hardware drivers and support, if after this they wish to return to a older image again then so be it. but it costs nothing to experiment now does it ?.

Great advice from all- tried the new image, rescan all to no avail.

I then decided to go back to basics and look at the hardware- it seems something with sharp teeth has been eating my cable!

Replaced et viola all channels back!

thanks for all the help but it just goes to show -expect the unexpected!

A tin of .22 pellets costs around a fiver. empty a few pockets of cat food into the yard / garden etc then just find a nice perch on top of a shed or even lean out of a window with a air rifle and plink away.

It`s all the shit people leave lying around that attracts the rats, creatures that will still be here long after we`re extinct
