how to FTP

i have bought an ET9200 today and i am just flashing VIX in to it but dont know how to FTP and tried fanzilla but it wont configure and it says need to open ports how do you do that.Complete bigginer any help is welcomed

first of all, is your unit fully working, ie; can you watch free to air tv??

is your unit, if working, connected to your router ??

again, if so, go menu/setup/system/network, network config, see if you have connected to your network, ( make sure DHCP is set to yes )

yes i can and just finished loading the latest vix image

ok..once the unit is functional, get the ip of the unit

use filezilla

input the ip of the unit, user = root password, leave blank, as in nothing set the port to 21....then press connect

Command: PASS
Response: 530 Login incorrect.
Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server
This is the message i am getting

he he, well you have got the most important part done..you can now communicate with the unit

I suspect, you might first need to read the rules carefully, as your next important step

you might then want to no how to install cams ( after you have read the rules )

need to fix the channels first as in know i cant talk about it as i have seen the rules but will do manual editing after

also, you need to do a few more things, update the unit would be first, blue button...select VIX...software update

second go to plugins, menu plugins...download plugins...select settings, download a channel list, I recomend catseye listings

need to do that and i have read the rules but i have a motorised dish and a fixed 28.2 dish which is now scanning and finding channels.how do i do the other one

oh wow,...Tuner A I assume is 28 east set to simple, single sat
Tuner B needs to be ( for now, until you are up to speed ) simple, set to motorized
input your USALs settings, if you do not know the setting,...give an approx location ie liverpool/portsmouth/london

if you down load a settigs list, ie; catseye, most channels will then work, if not encrypted

but really, you need to do some reading through the stickys
