ET5000 crashing with vix 2.2

there is some issue with et5000 under ViX 2.100.
I have flashed 12 units purchased in the same lot from the same shop,
All settings and installed plugins are the same, just have flushed by recovering from the same backup image.

After flashing and testing I have sent all units to the customer, but I've got "green screen of dead" on 3 of them after 3-7 days of udage, and it's happened twice with one unit. I mean the unit can not start and continually restarting with green screen without any writing after booting and then "loading ..." - green screen - "loading ..." - green screen - "loading ..." - .....

I can fix the dead et5000 by a regular re-flashing f.e. by same image.
i have brought one dead unit back to the lab, but have no ideas what to to do.
Actually i need resolve this issue.

then submit the crash logs to us along with a detailed explanation of what lead up to the crash. otherwise we would just be guessing at your very vague post.

how can I take a log, cant catch ftp, no disks & usb mounted

its only the enigma gui that is in the crash loop, you should still be able to FTP or TELNET into the boxes.

there is 3 logs under /media/hdd

but no one from today, below is from yesterday, what looks as last log.

i have found 2 recorder .ts files (about 72 mb total size) under /media/hdd/movie and after clearing /media/hdd/movie box have started.
so i guess somebody have pressed a record button, and flash was full. (no hdd attached)

i have found 2 recorder .ts files (about 72 mb total size) under /media/hdd/movie and after clearing /media/hdd/movie box have started.
so i guess somebody have pressed a record button, and flash was full. (no hdd attached)

so my new question is - how can i prevent recording for box without hdd attached.

you can't these are PVR boxes and the record function is meant to be used. maybe educating your "customers" in the correct use of the hardware would be a better way to go.

using recording without hdd installed leads to crash, so some trick have to be. Any ideas? imho any software solution is always better

Couldn't agree more - wrong keys being pushed will always happen - box shouldn't crash - that's a major bug.

how was my suggestion daft ? please do explain, and no its not a bug in the ViX image if you over fill the flash on any enigma based receiver it will crash.

I may have misread or misunderstood. I thought you were suggesting that if the record key was pressed without a HD attached then that was the users' fault. I am saying it's a software bug.

atm we are thinking about a solution that would prevent a recording from being made in case no medium is attached.
