Updating my et5000 makes it crash

Also the last couple of days it been having problems finding a couple of satellites and its really slow scanning seams to take ages as it keeps freezing then you see the vix logo spin for a bit then it will scans some more

The best advise I can give you at the moment is to flash the box again without restoring your old settings.
This may take you 10 minutes or so, but will probably solve your problem.

btw: what do you mean by "updating"? A software update or a satellite scan?

Shouldn't be doing that on a service scan... This is with vix image, yeah? Which satellite? Multi, single?

First thing to try ... Once you've scanned your satellites, before going to a channel, try restarting the box...

What happens when you download channel settings from the feeds??? They work then?

Just run a simple scan, see screenshot, change the satellite to the one you are scanning.

Menu > Setup > Service Searching > Manual Scan

Done that but it doesn't scan all the channels that's why i was trying to add the single transponder but even doing it the way you said takes ages as it keeps freezing then the little vix logo pops up spins for a bit then carry's on again. Just tried it again and did what you said and it did the same thing froze then flashed up the green screen and restarted

Try an upto date Settings/bouquets pack, It may already contain the channels you are looking for.

    Guide http://www.world-of-satellite.com/sh...o-using-DBEdit

    Latest Catseye settings http://www.world-of-satellite.com/sh...-58-West/page6

That pack should already contain an upto date satellites.xml
