    Blind scan

    Hi,

Does the Uno have blind scan option on the VIX image? I read it's available on Black Hole but I've grown very much accustomed to the VIX and don't want to change....

Is there a plug in available for this?

    Thanks
    CJ

Just curious. What exactly is a blind scan? Is this used for feed hunters.

yeah pretty much. it allows you to fully scan a satellite without the need for a satellites.xml file thus picking up transponders or feeds that are not otherwise listed in the epg etc.

And is this not already available n the VIX image? That's what I thought all those random useless channels that came in on a scan were. Guess not lol. Omg that would take forever to scan would it? Lol

those numbered channels are channels like the BBCI feeds and others as they are listed on the satellite. as for the time it takes to do a blindscan, on the Uno i have timed a full blindscan of 28.2 east at around or just under 4 minutes at least a dozen times.

:O 4mins lol my duo I had was taking nearly 30mins just to bring in sly channels. I thought that was normal. Now it seems like forever lol I would have thought to scan the entire sat would have taken longer.

well on my old DM7020 it used to take easily 25 minutes to do a regular scan of 28.2 east but i did a few tests a couple of weeks ago using a Uno / dm600 x2 tm600's and the dm7020 and all did a full normal scan of 28.2 east in under 5 minutes with almost exactly the same number of channels received, and the blindscan on the uno was even faster than the normal scan.

I guess it depends on the tuner and the Uno has hardware support for blind search.
