    Service Scan taking ages!

    Hi all,

Just like to give u a run down of what i have got and what my issue is.

I have recently bought a vu+ duo, Technomate 2600 motor and a technomate tm4 lnb. i had them all installed today but the engineer had no experience with the vu so he didnt program it. I have flashed the box with dream elite, setup the lon and lat for my area and have done a service scan. The service scan has been going for 2 hours now and is only 15% done having found only 5 services?? Dish is also definately moving.

Am i doing something wrong here or is it meant to take this long?

also note that all i have done id load the image and no cams etc have been loaded as i have not setup my internet local to the box.

Please someone help....ive been on such a high as i have finally got the box and now im struggling to set it up.

Set the satellite to whatever satellite your dish is pointing too.

Did the engineer align your dish with Thor?

If so you could just transfer a set of Enigma 2 settings from our downloads section.

It took my vu+ 24 hours to complete a full motorised scan. Is this normal?

    hi guys .
have not had mine long enough to comment ...alot of it has to do with how many sats you want to scan and if Network search is selected ...24 hrs does seem abit extreme ...my dreambox would scan 9 sats frm 30w to 28.2 e in a couple of hours .....the fastest way to do it ...is downlaoad one of the settings files on here and just FTP them to the box 1
    hope this helps

I started doing a full scan at around 5pm, at midnight it wasn't even halfway through. I did change various settings so it scanned for everything, cant remember now what I did.

Then I discovered the settings section and simply used dreamboxedit and saved myself the hassle.

Hi guys, i have followed the guide. I ftpd the enigma files and that went fine. Now when i turn on the box it lists all sats.

But when i select one it shows the pic of the turning satellite and again takes ages. Once that pic goes away there is still no channel showing.

    What could be wrong?

Ie re checked the lon and lat settings all ok

Do FTA channels appear on 28deg? (the UK channels)

Also check BBC world news on Thor 0.8deg.

I did vaugly have bbc hd working last night but when I changed channels it stopped working again. When I goto bbc hd now the SNR is 0%

I also think I haven't set the motorised dish settings properly as when the sat icon comes up to sat the sat is movin, when I look out sidee it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

Please help... I'm slowly losing my patience.
