3G USB MODEM on XTrend 5000???

    Hello users and members,

I have an urgent question: Is there a plug-in in the ET 5000 that supports 3G USB modem, so that no ethernet connection is required in order to acquire internet service?
If so, what is the name of the plug-in? Please let me know, Thank you.

    Best Regards,
    Sungwutang

There is no 3G plugin for the et5000 im afraid

i have used 3g routers in the past for friends which gives more flexibility

the only down side of using a 3g modem is the cost and network coverage of the service provider in your location

    Code:
    http://www.3grouterstore.co.uk/

the 3g routers just connect to your box via Ethernet cable like a normal router

you can also use router with 3g support which lets you plugin a 3g dongle directly in to the router and are usually cheaper

i have used a TP-Link TL-MR3420 300MBPS Wireless N 3G Router router in the past it can be found for £33.49 on amazon

Red face WOW thank you :)

I don't know how much to thank you It is truly a big help for the question I posted. So here is how I understood it: the 3g router basically uses the 3g USB modem to acquire internet service, and then when you connect the 3g router to the ET STB through an ethernet cable, users can use internet on ET 5000 or 9000? Correct me if I am wrong..
But thank you once again for your great support!!
