Post #10 mentions a 2 year old "working" version.

Also, if you have an XTrend box, their drivers are buggy as hell and this makes subtitles unreliable on playback - live TV is fine. I don't think they can have tested subtitles whilst they were developing their software.
as before the 5.2.045 was last working timeshift subtitle that was working when paused and carry on working when played.my box is a solo 2 with this current version as i need the subtitles working and would prefer to upgrade if the timeshift subtitles disappearing can be fixed?
also would like to add that the mods have helped me a lot over the years and do a great job fixing issues when known?

I'm seeing this as well with my Duo 4K SE. It's running 5.4.014. Tried it on Freeview BBC HD and C4 HD. Not tried it on Satellite yet.
This is the same on all channels.
Only version at moment with timeshift subs is OpenViX 5.2.045.
The newest versions openvix-6.0.006.release still do not have working subs when timeshift is stopped have to swap channels and start again otherwise.
very frustrating as been so long (2019-07-17) since last worked properly!
tried the new 6.0.007 on vu sol 2 today same problem on the timeshift disappearing on pause.
i am surprised it is still a problem after all this time (over 2 years)but still remains so unfortunately.

5.3.015.004 (Dev) works.
5.3.016.001 (Dev) doesn't.
Maybe.....

@CCS, can you explain the problem? How do I reproduce it?
Select a tv channel with reliable subtitles, switch subtitles on, wait until they appear, press pause to enter timeshift, wait for the screensaver, press pause again. No subtitles.
The screensaver is just a convenient time to wait, subtitles still fail if you start playing again before it appears.
This debug log is bbc1 hd live news, but subtitles are available.

Here's a debug log from 6.1.000.000 (Dev), subtitles disappear after pausing and restarting timeshift.

And, for completeness, here it is working in 5.3.015.004 (Dev)...

Can you undo that commit and retry?
You can't just use the old version. You would need to undo it manually.
