The availability of drivers depends on the image, and not (or hardly) on the box in use.
So please tell us which image you are using.

There are too many on ebay for me to know if works and a lot of them don't say what chipset is inside.

Found one with this chipset "Ralink RT 5372" will this work?

Have gigablue openvix apollo 126, set up the device in "client mode" then plug the ethernet from nano router to receiver and it works perfectly.
Using it until i get a usb adapter.

The Edimax EW-7811Un (V1.0A) works out the box on the Xtrend ET8500 running OpenViX build 5.1.013.

Looking online, websites say the EW-781Un runs on a Realtek RTL8188CU chipset, but on my receiver it seems to be working with the Realtek RTL8192CU driver. I'm not sure if the EU and US models run on different chipsets, and if my EU does in fact have a RTL8192CU chipset, while the US models have a RTL8188CU chipset, but it's the only reason I can think of for the discrepancy.

The same driver handles both chipsets on Linux - it just happens to be named after the latter rather than the former.
