404 not found when trying to download rytecxmltv-UK.gz

My GB Quad+ gets it's EPG data from here:
    http://www.vuplus-community.net/rytec/rytecxmltv-UK.gz
This has worked for months without any issues.
However, I noticed this morning that the EPG was missing from my Quad+.

    When I try to download http://www.vuplus-community.net/rytec/rytecxmltv-UK.gz in a browser, I'm getting 404.

    Any ideas?

The Vu-Plus community would be best placed to answer.

At a guess, they have moved on to the .xz format.

You are trying to download something from "http://www.vuplus-community.net" and cant find it. Why ask here, we wouldn't know? Ask there.

    2.
The.gz files will being dropped from 01/01/2018. I am guessing they stopped uploading those files and expect people to use the newer files. Once again, I am guessing and could be wrong.

    3.
EPG Importer and CrossEPG downloader have been updated to use the newer files

Actually, you need to change what you are downloading. The channels are being split into groups.

    The Abu

I'be tried it and its till not working - it's still pointing at the gz file.

I ran this first to see what version of epgimport I'm using
    Code:
    opkg list-installed | grep -i epg
    enigma2-plugin-extensions-epgimport - 1.0+git134+8229b27-r33.4
Then I ran this to upgrade
    Code:
     opkg upgrade enigma2-plugin-extensions-epgimport
And here's confirmation that the upgrade work
    Code:
    root@gbquadplus:~# opkg list-installed | grep -i epg
    enigma2-plugin-extensions-epgimport - 1.0+git169+6036128-r36
Then I rebooted and I'm seeing the same problem

Has anyone figured out how to fix this without upgrading the entire image?

Update: I also tried to update my rytrec providers and that's failing

You will need to ensure you have python-lzma and python-pkgutil added to your image.

The changelog for the plugin is here
    https://github.com/oe-alliance/XMLTV...commits/master

    BTW
The old type of files used for Rytec files will stop on 1st of January

    You can try this

    Code:
    opkg update && opkg install libc6 python-compression python-lzma
    Code:
    wget -O /tmp/enigma2-plugin-extensions-epgimport_1.0+git169+6036129-r36_all.ipk http://egami-feed.com/plugins/plugins/enigma2-plugin-extensions-epgimport_1.0+git169+6036129-r36_all.ipk && opkg install --force-overwrite /tmp/enigma2-plugin-extensions-epgimport_1.0+git169+6036129-r36_all.ipk

Thanks Abu for all your help
I can see what you're suggesting however I don't think my problem is decompressing the new format (yet).
My image is still point at the old gz file.
I need to point at the new egp files (where ever that are)

I also tried to update my rytrec providers and that's failing ... does that give any clues?

(I will still probably need you suggestions afterwards)

The new EPG import should have the new sources.

EPG importer is still pointing at the old gz file
Also, when I try to update the Rytec sources, it fails
