Looking for old image - Hades.018

    Hi,
I'm looking for an older image to get my box back to a known working state. The image I'm looking for is Hades.018 for vu+ solo2. Has anyone got a link to a location where this images are archived and available for download.

    Code:
    Software
    System OE:	OE-Alliance 3.0
    Distro:	openvix
    Firmware version:	Hades.018
    Driver date:	20150623
    Kernel version:	3.13.5
    Gui version:	2015-07-09
    Thanks,
    John

The archives are at openvix.co.uk but they don't go back that far. If it's a genuine receiver then flash it with the latest image - if that doesn't work then neither will an older image.

    Hi
I really don't understand that attitude. Like the OP, although I don't have the same box, I am considering going back to an earlier image too - precisely because none (so far) of the 5.xxx versions are working well for me. I know that earlier images may have their issues as well, but, in my experience, some of the later 4.xxx images were a lot more reliable than my experience with the 5.xxx images.
As I say, 'so far'. Maybe I will get lucky with later releases, but, I may, like the OP, go back.
When you say ..... 'then neither will an older image' .... why do you think that?

May be the underlying issue breaches the forum rules?

Abu, you've closed down the other question, rightly so because I breached rules - unintentionally I might add.

The question posed here is valid, and not in breach of rules - is that not the correct?

All the older series images have always been deleted after a certain amount of time, in a ideal world this would not happen and you would have a archive of images going all the way back to the original ViX 1.0 series images.

In reality it's just too expensive to archive all those terabytes of images for all the boxes that have been supported by ViX. If your lucky you may find a user who has a archive of a image but you take the risk that it may have been tampered with. Also a lot of the older images were abused by those making clone receivers and in turn hammering the associated image feeds which was another reason for deleting older images.

no your not in breach of any rules with your above question, that said many users will simply assume that you want a old image for a cloned receiver and give silly answers as a result. As I said above ViX do not archive such old images so you need to find a user who has, or find another forum that still has a copy posted.

I normally advise making an image backup up you can restore it. I must ensure that I do this consistently.

Found Hades 018 and uploaded for you

You would be better off resolving issue on current image though.

The gone channels are only available on the provider's receivers. No matter which image you use, that won't change.

Hi Wonder who 'they' are, and what are the 'comments' and 'assumptions'? Is this a 'we know what we are doing and all you plebs are so ignorant' type of thing? Or am I misunderstanding the gist of your post?
