    Kodi not starting on 2nd attempt? Have to reboot.

    Hi,

    I've got a problem opening kodi.

    Build = openvix 4.2.021
    vu+ soloe se v2
    vuplus kodi plugin

    The kodi plugin seems to run fine on 1st attempt with no issues. I'll then exit kodi and watch normal tv, if I have to then run kodi again later that night or next day it won't run and just returns back to the plugin menu. The only way I can get it to run is by resetting from menu or hard power cycle from rear switch. Has anyone came across this issue before?

    The only thing I can think of that I've changed was adding plugin - mediaplayer as the standard kodi one is not great. I have since removed this with no improvement. Is kodi not closing properly and leaving a process open or is it a vix bug?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    FTP to the receiver storage device using Filezilla. Look for hidden folders named ./kodi and ./xbmc. Delete them both. This will reset Kodi plugin.

    When you setup again setup one step at a time to try track down what the cause is.

    Trial - Can't see any crash dumps?

    Sicilian - I found ./kodi on media/hdd I deleted this (had a lot of failed errors during it). Reran kodi still not running on 2nd attempt.

    I then removed the plugin and re-downloaded it to see if that would help but it still does the same thing. Noticed it also remembered all my kodi settings so I'm thinking removing the plugin didn't do a full removal.

    Ok Guys, I have managed to sort it by trial and error. Removing plugins and extensions had no effect, here's what I did just in case anyone else hits this issue:

    I located 2 directories created by kodi / xbmc during the plugin installation namely (hidden ) .kodi & and xbmc. These were on /media/hdd, although I've read that if you've installed kodi without a usb-stick or drive then these will be created on internal folders.

    I then tried to remove these folders via filezilla and also telnet where I was getting errors, mostly read only errors. I finally removed the usb stick and fired it up in my computer where I could remove these folders with full access. Turned box off, inserted usb stick and fired it up.

    Kodi then done a first installation again and after a few open and shuts of kodi it seems to be fully working again. Having to install a few selected apps and setting up trakt and realdebrid is a small price to pay for having this annoying issue fixed.

    Thanks very much for replying and setting me off in the right direction
