I would give that a try, but would that not mean that if I'm watching something over an hour long then the message will pop up onscreen telling me the box is about to power off?
I'd just be replacing one minor annoyance for another in that case.

I don't fancy being too much of a beta tester, I do enough of that in my real life.
Bearing in mind you were the one who also told me my timer wake/standby issue was only my box as yours are fine, ( http://www.world-of-satellite.com/sh...ing-in-standby ) yet several boxes do it, it's a hardware issue according to your compadre a few posts ago, birdman...

I have both T2 and S2 tuners in my ET10000 and haven't noticed any washed out or soft effects of the HD picture. Pictures are as sharp as that from my Miraclebox and comparable to other boxes i have under the TV. The AV is set to 1080i, 50Hz and is input to a dedicated HDMI input to my TV. My TV allows individual settings for each input and i have set it up so that flesh tones look normal, colour is not over saturated, a grey scale is fully resolved and all gimmicky features on the TV turned off or to minimum.
Xtrend ET10K, 2 x satellite tuners 28.2 (Sky FTA), 2 x hybrid (UK Freeview), Zgemma H9S (satellite)
