I have even turned the box to standby and gone back 10 min later, but still will not let me OK the window.

You have selected "BBC One Wal HD", this is a satellite service. The data coming from the satelllite signal will not contain EPG data about terrestrial services. If you want to pursue EPG refresh you need to select you must select a Terrestrial service. I would also select fake recording.

As I said/indicated before, setting a daily zap timer/recording for two minutes will achieve the same thing.

Regarding "If you want to pursue EPG refresh", well no really it sound like a bit of a bodge. I would rather the DVB-T tuner just supply the TV guide for Freeview just the same as it does on the TV, but its not working on this box for some reason.

Is their a set up guide for numpties somewhere so I can get the Freeview EPG working simply?
The satellite EPG is working fine.

That's the bit in post #14.
It's all I've ever done (no plugins...) to get the full Freeview EPG data.

I use epg refresh for freeview on solo4k and have no problems, for the channel I use the sd version of bbc1 which in my area is called BBC1 N West, I use this with false recording of 180 seconds and have it set to run 5 minutes after opentv, it is set to poll in a 15 minute period. This will only run if I am not in deep standby and if the tuner is not in use, these are advanced options you need to check.

... also does the box have to be in daily use for the post 14 suggestion to work?

The Solo4k is working fine, its the solo2 that has not been updating the epg for weeks.

    What tuner are you using?
Can you zap to the terrestrial services without a problem?

No problem at all with viewing the TV feeds... it's a VU+ Turbo USB

    No.
Freeeview sends the EPG on all muxes all of the time. Each mux gets its own data more frequently than that from the other muxes, so the data on the channel you are watching will populate quickly.
But you should get the entire EPG in 5~10 mins. It's how Freeview TVs work.

Somewhere along the lines something has gone amiss with the setup of your receiver. I very much doubt that the turbo tuner is incapable of absorbing the EPG off the Terrestrail stream. I will nonetheless ask someone to confirm.

    To help isolate the isue

    Please do the followoing:
    1. Make an image backup so you can revert to it at a later stage .
    2. Halt your system using using command
    Code:
    init 4
    3. Wait 10 seconds
    4. Delete any instances of epg.dat on all your storage devices
    5. Flash image 037. Do not restore any settings or plugins.
    6. Only installl the drivers for your USB tuner. Do not install any other plugins
    7. In the EPG menu, change to storage device to your HDD. Do not alter anything else.
    8. Disable all other tuners apart from the USB tuner one. Set that for Winterhill, not Europe.
    8. Create your bouquets using ABM or perform a non-ABM scan using Winterhill.
    9. Zap to any Terrestrial service And waith 2 minutes.
    10. Check your EPG if the problem is still there.

The above will rule out all other issues, please follow exactly. If there are no problems, we can proceed to add other items to your setup avoiding issues. If the problems still exist, you can reflash your backup image made at stage 1.
