Unhappy Grainy skins, poor small text. Help!

I am struggling to get the smaller text from skins and the picons to look reasonable. They just look washed out/grainy.

I do have a 4K TV but I can see why that should make any difference. I have tried all settings of 720p/1080i/1080p in Openvix AV settings.

    Any help appreciated.

What receiver is this? What television set (make and model)? Have you switched off overscan?

Hi Mate. Solo 2 and a Sony 49X850 4K TV. Yes, overscan is off. Can't get over how grainy transparent picons are displaying (whichever size or author of I choose). The larger picons look great in photoshop.

Use the Confluence skin and try the 400x200 MK picons. They compliment one another beautifully.

I'm 99% sure that is a scaling issue, and would have guessed overscan too.

Whether on the box or telly I can't tell from the info. As the left one is MatrixHD (hopefully FHD so 1080p) make sure the box is outputting 1080p and make sure your TV is set to 1080p not upscaling to 4k. Then check all the the setting on both the TV and box to make sure nothing else like overscan is affecting the settings. That text 100% does not look like that on my TV.
