ye theres more in enigma2 folder than channellist.

yes it works fine in /usr/share but that is the system one

/etc/enigma2 is where you put custom ones so you are not overwriting system files.

/usr/share contains the system file, (this should not be changed), if you place one into /etc/enigma2/ also known as the user file, the image will bypass the system file and use this instead, until such a time as you remove or change the user file. The same system works for other files like the satellites.xml file and has worked perfectly for years.

Given that the MVI file format is a video one, does anyone know whether the boxes can actually handle a boot video, rather than just a single static image?

openvixhd uses an animated bootlogo(bootvideo), and there are 3 more animated bootlogos in the feeds under bootvideos

Here's my first go at a bootlogo. It's basically the same as an image posted a few pages back. I couldn't get that to convert to .mvi because he resolution was too small so I've created my own. It's full 1080p, thought it was worth a post and share.

Edit: I forgot to resize the image to 1920x1080. Don't download this attachment I'll post the correct resolution in a second....
