Vu Duo USB driver download when feeds are offline.

    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has DL'ed the DIB0700 (Nova T) driver from an alternate source? Duo feeds are down at the moment so I cannot get the driver through the Plugins menu.

I tried another thread, below, from earlier in the year - telnet commands - but had no luck.

    Thanks.

    Here you go.
Extract the zip, ftp them all over to /tmp
Telnet into the box & navigate to /tmp
use opkg install *.ipk & reboot when done.

Thanks again judge. I saved these to /tmp (automatically defaulted to /var/volatile/tmp). I then nav to tmp and "opkg install kernel-module-dvb-usb-dib0700_3.1.1-r2.1_vuduo.ipk"

reply is "opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package kernel-module-dvb-usb-dib0700."

I am quite new to this so am probably missing something obvious - I have the duo a few months with no prior knowledge of Linux so please excuse my ignorance - nearly all of my learnings are from this site. I have previously not posted as any queries I had were already answered in existing threads but I cannot find more info on this issue.

    thanks,

No ignorance, it's a new OS for you so a bit of a learning curve.
There are a lot of ipk files in that zip, so trying to install one might not work as it might have dependencies on another.
Rather than trying to install one, install them all using the command I suggested:
    Code:
    opkg install *.ipk
I've used that lot of IPKs today & my Nova T stick works perfectly after a reboot for Saorview on a DUO.

Nice one judge - perfect. Had an idea I was missing something obvious - right there in front of me!!!!!

Thanks for your time in zipping and replying today. Have to say again this forum is excellent - glad I bought the duo and started to learn about this tech, and got great guides from here.

    To CrimeCall and V. Browne.

    Cheers

Just watching it now on +1. Main reason I posted - would have waited otherwise. Be watching for the ****. Surely that's not allowed on RTE?
