Depends on the printer model but most inkjet models have a option in the settings to clean the heads.
probably if you can list the make and model of the printer.

SIMPLES.
Depends on the make of the printer but if you right click on the printer you should get an option of Printing Preferences. Choose that and see if you get a tab with Maintenance. If so choose that and you should have an option for Deep Cleaning. Sometimes you have to choose this a couple of times to eliminate lines.
As for fixing printers its really not worth the cost of parts and labour. I always recommend people to buy either Canon or Epson as cheap ink is readily available and they also use separate cartridges for each colour so you are not binning good ink when one colour runs out as happens with the single cartridge printers.

hmm just had a quick google on Kodak ESP315 print head and it appears to be quite a common problem. Having said that they don't appear to be expensive to replace as they are separate from the cartridge
