New user : can't get Samba running

New user here, so apologies if I'm missing something or posting in wrong place.

Since getting box just before Xmas, I've not been able to get SAMBA started. Tried re-installing and also updates via SSH.

I can get Autostart to Enabled, 'Current Staus' is 'Stopped', pressing green Start doesn't start the service.

Is there something obvious I'm missing ?

I had a similar problem, try changing the network adaptor settings from dhcp/static whichever is opposite to current setting, save changes, ensure your box has network access by seeing if there are any software updates available, reboot, then try to reinstall Samba. I had this issue on image 6.4.004.

Update - I have managed to get this working after some debug:

    root@vuduo4kse:~# /usr/sbin/smbd
/usr/sbin/smbd: error while loading shared libraries: libcli-spoolss-samba4.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

    The following fixed the above:

    opkg install packagegroup-base-samba

Now Samba is showing as running and I can connect !

Thanks for all the help and sorry for the delay in responding to those helpfully replying.
