replacing 2 Universal LNBs with Diseq by a Monoblock

    Dear all
For years I am having a fix dish with two alp LNB's in a distance of 6 degrees, both cables attached to a diseq and one cable that goes to my VU+ Solo2.
So far so good. However did I notice that the diseq switch box was not completely sealed to water and the diseq looks outside a bit rusty. Furthermore the LNB directing to 13.0 east does not switch to vertical. Lucky enough my Swiss TV station are all on horizontal beams.

Now I am thinking of replacing the LNB's by a universal monobloc and getting rid of the diseq switch.

    My questions are:
    1) Does a monobloc have an in-built switch?
    2) How would I have to set my openvix tuner setting modified? Is there anything special I have to be aware when buying the monobloc (beside the diameter of the LNB's)?

    Thanks for any hint

They have a built in switch. You would configure them the same way as separate ones.

You will lose ability to adjust the LNBs, so make sure you get one made for your size of dish. On a small dish, gap between LNBs is smaller compared to a larger dish. Standard collar width is 40mm.

I've been installing dishes for years and my recomendation is stick with your current setup. You can't adjust the skew of a monoblock which means it is not ideal for astra satelites that are preskewed 7.5º.

This would mean replacing the LNB for 13.0 E and the diseq switch. Hope the new one will be with a water resistant box.

Most diseqc switches come with waterproof covers. some cable ties exposed to UV light snap over time. If the switch falls over or slips out, you will get issues. I use a bit of copper core wrapped around as extra assurance in securing them. You can also use amalgamating tape.
