Being retired and living permanently in Andalucia, reception of UK TV has been made quite difficult for us over the last couple of years, so I started pointing dishes at various satellites in order to (mainly) get some tennis for my wife to watch, but also trying to pick up some Spanish TV because our terrestrial reception is abysmal, for we live in a valley.
A 2.0m dish sorted out the UK reception until my Humax 1100 died and my faithful Triax 110 was brought back into service but was only a single tuner, yet it has a marvellous Blind Scan facility.
Searching the web for something better than the Humax I came across World of Satellite and this forum, where I immediately felt at home because it is so similar to our PCLinuxOS forum. Reading about all the Linux receivers did start to get a little daunting, for they seemed to be rather complex, but with helpful advice from Wof S, I decided on an Edision OS Mega Triple tuner Enigma 2 flashed with the latest Vix image.
When it arrived I connected it to the Invacom twin LNB on the 2.0m fixed dish 28.2E and to a smaller dish fixed on Astra 19.2E and then the magic began.
Although the Vix Manual V1.1 does not quite tally up with the Vix version on the box, it was not too difficult to find the various menus and settings (with the help of this forum) and after some 30 mins I had about 3000 channels to sort out.
Things did get confusing at times, until I found the Help button on the remote! What a fantastic feature, and the Bouquet maker, again what a superb program.
This receiver is light years ahead of all the other receivers that I have used over the years and I just wanted to say Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this forum which has helped me so much
