If they didn't flash the selected image, you would have had the factory image.
Pretty sure the last image had to be re-run because of a failure. 5.0 021 would have been the one available for download/flashing on 17th.

Thank you ronand.Don't let that put you off - just reflash with the current image (5.0.023). From time to time a reflash is required. Sometimes a kernel change, sometimes for a major build. Usually its just a case of backing up through the vix menu, flashing the new image and then restoring the settings backup. A storage device is pretty much essential (timeshift/recordings/epg etc) - a usb stick can be used but a hard drive is preferable. Enjoy your new receiver and btw the Openvix image is the best.
If I were to add a HDD would it be preferable if it were externally powered or would the Edision OS mini + be able to power the HDD itself.

Its best to get a powered drive - a stb may be able to power a drive but it might be hit & miss. And the bigger the better - recording from a good HD source can use about 7Gb per hour.
