Vu solo 2 image and cable tuner

    Hi peepz
I want flash with latest image is it 50014? Also adding a usb cable tuner. Which works best with vix images and these boxes vu turbo tuner or sundtek tuner? Is this viable option and is anyone running this set up? And all auto bouquets and epg running smoothly like it does with the sly tuner. Or is it better investing in a new box?
    Thankz
    Ice

Both the Turbo tuner and Sundtek tuner will work. They both work well. Just pick one.

I prefer the Sundtek because you can use it with more receivers including PCs. This adds to resell value. It works independently of receiver drivers, they are quick to fix issues.

USB tuner or internal tuner is has no bearing on the other questions.

    Solo2 + Sundtek + ABM = Failed scans.

It's been reported more than a year ago.

Thankz 2 different answers. Confused. So will they work or not? Any 1 tried with this box?
As a turbo or sundtek tuner cost about 50 quid and if its going to work id rather invest that into a new box.

Thanks Huevos, so does yours work or not? Shall I buy the sundtek tuner or invest in a new box?

Unless you hear from a Solo2 user with a Sundtek, best not to buy it. I didn't realise there was an issue with the Solo 2. Sorry. (The Sundtek works with all my receivers.)

Abu, with the Solo2 + Sundtek + ABM, you get tuned failed message doing ABM scan, even when the Sundtek is not the tuner being used. I reported to Sundtek some time ago but never got round to debugging it with them. Anyway that is more than a year ago so maybe there has been a change.

If anyone is using a Solo 2 and a Sundtek tuner for UK DVB-C, can you confirm if it works please.

Like Abu says Turbo is only good for Vu, so if you update to another brand later your tuner won't be any use. If you get the Sundtek and you have trouble Sundtek will sort it out. It is just I ran out of time and that setup was dismantled before a fix was available.

    As promised update.
Vu turbo tuner added updated to latest vix image 50014
Once the image loaded I did a software update & now the image is actually showing as 50015, which isn't even in the image download section yet, so bonus!
I did a dual sly & vermin set up.
All is kool in the ice household again
Thank you everyone who helped, especially Abu, couldn't have done it without him, Keep up the good work guyz ;-)
