My mate has only one sat feed which at present is connected to his sky hd box. he wants to keep this box as he uses it to send the sky channels around his house. I want to connect that feed to an enigma 2 receiver and use the loop through to connect to the sky box. is this achievable? trying to feed a second cable from the dish would be a bit of an nightmare.

I hope you realise that not all channels will be achievable on the receiver using the looped out cable. You cannot have two receivers telling the LNB to switch between high/low vertical/horizontal planes.

If the Sky HD receiver was fitted by Sky, he would have had a shotgun cable fitted, unless it was a 595.

Nope over here (ireland) its quite regular for the sky engineers not to fit the shotgun cable if its not a straight forward job. if the master box is in stanby , can the slave then take total control and receive all channels?

Last Sky 'engineer' I met here was on a zero hour contract, so was happy to fit an octo LNB & install as many cables as possible to cover his time & costs. Sad really how they treat their installers.

I could be wrong but i think the get about €50 per install.at my mothers the engineer would no longer go on roof( health nd safety l presume) just left a quad lnb and some shotgun cable. Cant blame him setting up a fall arrest system is very time consuming for one person.anyway whats my options so.
