    upgrade openvix

    I have a gigablue quad plus box and i have openvix 4.2.026 release on it,i want to upgrade to 4.2.029 and keep all my fav channels and skin settings can someone tell me what i need to do thanks

    Perform a software update.

    Menu > Setup > Software update

    it will not let me do last part a message saying THE LINUX Kernal has changed an update is not permitted install latest image using a usb stick or image manager

    You have to

    • Create a settings backup.(this is automated on recent images, but best to do it)
    • Download new image
    • Flash new image
    • Restore settings/plugins

    Channel list: yes
    Skin: only if it is on the plugin download server. You did not say which skin.

    You can include the skin location in your backup. Press Menu in the backup Manger window and select the skin location.

    Far easier to re-install it that manually afterwards.
